A megagame of interstellar war, politics and crisis management ( … and killer robots) by Jim Wallman.

Humanity has colonised around 1000 star systems and yet has never encountered intelligent aliens. True there is evidence of an ancient starfaring species (the Forerunners) but humanity missed whatever happened to them by many millennia.

In the centuries of interstellar expansion out from Sol, humanity has split into a number of polities each with its own character. Rivalry between these polities has been a spur to colonial expansion, but also a cause of local conflicts. Big wars between the Homeworlds have long been regarded as impossible – there is too much at stake! But out in the colonial Quadrants tensions can run hot…and they maybe about to get a lot hotter!

What is a megagame?

Megagames are exciting social multi-player games in which the participants are organised into teams. Simple game mechanics encourage player interaction and the game runs to a strict timetable.

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

In general, the minumum age limit is 18 years of age. However, the game does not contain themes or images that would be unsuitable for young adults. For players younger than 18 we have to be satisfied that they will be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult throughout the day. If you are buying tickets for someone who is below 18 please contact us so that we can confirm with you that they will accompanied by a guardian throughout the day.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is no reserved parking for the event. It is possible (but not easy) to find some parking along the side roads near the venue. The other option is to use city centre parking or park-and-ride. St Philip’s Church Centre is approximately 20 minutes walk from the city centre and central bus station. If you are coming by train, the venue is only 15 minutes walk from Cambridge station.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

Yes, if you are unable to make it to the event you can give your ticket to someone else to attend in your place.

What restrictions on accessibilty does the venue have?

The venue is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Please contact us if you have accessibility requirements.

Is food availble at the venue?

Yes, there will be snacks and cans of drink as well as plenty of bottles of watter. There is also a convenience store a short walk from the venue.

Can I bring alcohol to the event?

The venue does not allow consumption of alcohol. Any guests bringing alcohol to the venue or consuming alcohol at the event will be asked to leave.

Can I get a refund?

If you have bought a ticket and find that you cannot attend and cannot find anyone who can attend in your place then please contact us. If there is more than a week before the event then we are generally happy to issue a refund as it is likely we can resell your ticket. If there is less than a week before the event then we will do our best to resell lthe ticket and we are happy to issue a refund if we are able to do so.
